Abstract
Prospects for the future detection of supernova neutrinos are discussed, with particular emphasis on water Cherenkov detectors. A novel proposed modification to the Super-Kamiokande experiment designed to significantly enhance its supernova detection capabilities is discussed. Plans and progress towards realizing this new technology are described, as are some of the varied physics benefits it would provide.
