Abstract
We compute the energies of the glueball states in SU(N) field theory in 2 + 1 dimensions using Hamiltonian techniques. Using a new result which gives the integrals required analytically we are able to calculate for N ⩽ 25, and find that the spectrum of the excited states, extrapolated to the Nââ, is of the harmonic oscillator type.
