Abstract
⺠We explain the differences between everyday waste management and disaster debris cleanup. ⺠We model the decision making process for post-disaster debris cleanup with and without recycling incentives. ⺠We measure the increased potential revenue when recycling is a priority. ⺠An emphasis on recycling can also decrease overall reimbursable cost. ⺠An overly aggressive approach to recycling can actually increase costs.
