Abstract
We assessed serial changes in oxidative stress in patients with acute myocardial infarction by measuring urinary 8-hydroxy-2â²-deoxyguanosine excretion. The urinary 8-hydroxy-2â²-deoxyguanosine creatinine levels peaked at 4 hours after reperfusion therapy and the levels were higher in the cardiac event group than in the noncardiac event group before and after reperfusion.
