Abstract
Cold-rolling processes are commonly used in industrial production. Rolling-induced residual stresses influence the behavior of the material significantly. Thus, the prediction of this state is of high importance. In this study, the influence of the initial residual-stress state on the final state after cold rolling is investigated by means of finite-element analysis simulations and X-ray diffraction. It is shown that the initial residual-stress state of DC04 is eliminated after two cold-rolling passes even for comparably low plastic strains.
