Abstract
⺠Using a CHAID analysis tourists are segmented according to their willingness to pay. ⺠“Typical sun and beach tourists” present a low willingness to pay. ⺠Segments more prone to pay the earmarked accommodation tax (EAT) are identified. ⺠“Environmental steward tourists” are the most receptive to the EAT. ⺠The key predictors on the segmentation process are behavioural or psychological.
