Abstract
▶ Emerald ash borer has extirpated ash trees in southeastern Michigan. ▶ Established ash regeneration is plentiful enough to re-establish overstory ash. ▶ Regeneration is lower in wetlands where seedling establishment is more difficult. ▶ Lack of seed source has likely eliminated the ash seed bank in the area. ▶ Whether ash trees re-establish depends on future ash borer dynamics.
