Abstract
ⶠEmerald ash borer has extirpated ash trees in southeastern Michigan. ⶠEstablished ash regeneration is plentiful enough to re-establish overstory ash. ⶠRegeneration is lower in wetlands where seedling establishment is more difficult. ⶠLack of seed source has likely eliminated the ash seed bank in the area. ⶠWhether ash trees re-establish depends on future ash borer dynamics.
