ⶠSpatially explicit individual-based competition indices are a useful tool for assessing competition. ⶠTree diameter growth is largely a function of local neighbourhood competition. ⶠThe mode of competition is primarily size-asymmetric. ⶠThere may be high competitive equivalence among different tree species.
