Abstract
ⶠ4-year-old Eucalyptus globulus trees were able to tolerate 45% leaf removal. ⶠTrees responded by decreased branch senescence in the lower crown. ⶠDefoliation reduced the concentration of soluble sugars (SS) in foliage of the damaged and newly developed crown. ⶠDecrease in root soluble sugars were only observed in 10-15 diameter class and the rootball.
