Abstract
▶ 4-year-old Eucalyptus globulus trees were able to tolerate 45% leaf removal. ▶ Trees responded by decreased branch senescence in the lower crown. ▶ Defoliation reduced the concentration of soluble sugars (SS) in foliage of the damaged and newly developed crown. ▶ Decrease in root soluble sugars were only observed in 10-15 diameter class and the rootball.
