Abstract
âºÂ Rural areas in the US are disproportionately old. âºÂ Rural ageing is primarily the result of internal migration. âºÂ Natural decrease and retirement migration are two distinct contexts of rural ageing. âºÂ Population ageing in the rural US brings both challenges and opportunities.
