Abstract
Using data from the Foreign Agent Registration Act (FARA) Office, the research found that the lower a country is on the hierarchy of the world system, the less effort it puts into communicating with the United States; semi-periphery nations are more likely to hire U.S. public relations firms, followed by core nations and periphery nations; finally, the numbers of firms and clienteles have decreased over the past three years.
