Abstract
⺠We present a new algorithmic framework for dislocation dynamics simulations in small volumes. ⺠The framework relies on a direct coupling of a parallel dislocation dynamics code and a parallel finite element code. ⺠The coupling is carried out by recourse to a distributed shared memory concept and is applicable beyond the problem studied. ⺠Parallel efficiency of the proposed framework is evaluated in the context of a challenging application.
