Abstract
⺠Research suggests a link between the approximate number system (ANS) & math skills. ⺠The present study examined this link across the preschool period (3 to 5 years). ⺠Children with greater ANS precision had higher standardized math scores. ⺠Segmented regression analyses, however, revealed non-linearity. ⺠Children with lower math scores showed stronger traces of ANS processing.
