Abstract
⺠Belief inhibition in syllogistic reasoning in 12- to 17-year olds. ⺠Probing memory accessibility of beliefs that were cued during reasoning. ⺠Impaired memory access for words associated with misleading beliefs when reasoning was correct. ⺠Correct reasoning is mediated by the inhibition of intuitive beliefs that conflict with logic.
