Abstract
ⶠGrid based mapping of plant species can be used to identify spatially well-delimited phytogeographical entities. ⶠPlant distribution patterns in northern Belgium only partly coincide with existing biogeographical classifications. ⶠIn northern Belgium soil characteristics are more important than climatic factors in explaining plant distribution patterns.
