Abstract
► Conservation subdivisions offer environmental and economic benefits but rarely are used. ► We identified the lack of incentives for developers as the top barrier to successful construction. ► Other barriers were price concerns, lack of interest from elected officials, and smaller lots. ► Communities used density bonuses and flexibility in lot sizes to promote implementation. ► Informal meetings or expert-led workshops were used to alleviate adjacent landowner concerns.
