Abstract
⺠Conservation subdivisions offer environmental and economic benefits but rarely are used. ⺠We identified the lack of incentives for developers as the top barrier to successful construction. ⺠Other barriers were price concerns, lack of interest from elected officials, and smaller lots. ⺠Communities used density bonuses and flexibility in lot sizes to promote implementation. ⺠Informal meetings or expert-led workshops were used to alleviate adjacent landowner concerns.
