Abstract
⺠People living in grey urban areas with little urban green were found to spend more nights away from home. ⺠6% of all Dutch holiday nights may be related to a scarcity of urban green. ⺠In the most heavily grey urban areas 20% extra holiday nights are found. ⺠Extra holiday nights may be seen as a diseconomy of agglomeration; like traffic congestion. ⺠Results may help to link the fields of agglomeration (dis)economies, urban planning, and recreation and tourism.
