Abstract
► Artificial container-breeding flies differ with the urbanization level depending on the spatial scale. ► Community structure does not differ between patches of contrasting vegetation and building cover. ► The fly abundance was highest at intermediate levels of urbanization. ► The richness and the species composition were similar along the urbanization gradient.
