Abstract
► Antimony doped tin oxide supported on carbon black is synthesized using an in situ co-precipitation. ► Pt-ATO/C nanoparticles are prepared using a consecutive polyol process. ► The nanoparticles enhance the catalyst activity for the methanol oxidation reaction. ► Pt-ATO/C is a promising methanol oxidation catalyst in direct methanol fuel cells.
