Abstract
► In this study we examined new synthesis of composite LiFePO4/C. ► Nanostructured LiFePO4/C powders were obtained at different temperatures. ► Heterosite FePO4 was revealed for the first time as a minor phase. ► The optimal powder delivered capacity of 160 mAh g−1. ► Heterosite FePO4 phase also participated in electrochemical reactions.
