Abstract
ⶠPoly(vinylidene fluoride) is grafted with poly(vinylbenzyltrimethylammonium. ⶠchloride) via atom transfer radical polymerization to afford an ion conductive ionomer. ⶠThe ionomer shows a high ion exchange capacity and improved water affinity. ⶠA direct hydrazine hydrate fuel cell employing such ionomer as a catalyst binder exhibits 5-10 fold increase of output relative to that without using such ionomer.
