Abstract
ⶠA computationally efficient 2D finite volume model was developed for analysis of tall SOFC stacks. ⶠThe model predictions were validated against literature results for selected single and multi-cell benchmark cases. ⶠThe impact of on-cell reforming, cell gas flow reduction, and cell voltage degradation on the temperature field of the tall stack was characterized. ⶠMeasurement plates greatly affect the local temperature field in tall stacks and must be included in simulations of instrumented experiments.
