Abstract
▶ Nafion degradation was investigated with [H2O2] and [F−] in the Fenton reaction. ▶ Activation energy for H2O2 decomposition is 85 kJ mol−1 in Nafion presence. ▶ Activation energy for F- generation is 97 kJ mol−1 in the reaction. ▶ The reaction is expressed ln(d[F−]/d[decomposed H2O2]) = −19.5 × 103 K−1 + 42.8. ▶ Morphological damage of Nafion also relate strongly to the reaction temperature.
