Abstract
⺠We study a multi-loop control strategy for a solid oxide fuel cell and micro gas turbine (SOFC/MGT) hybrid system. ⺠A PID decoupling controller is employed to control the SOFC temperature and the turbine inlet temperature; a model predictive controller is proposed to track the power output of the hybrid system; and a single neuron adaptive PID controller is used to adjust the fuel utilization. ⺠The multi-loop control strategy is realized in the MATLAB/SIMULINK environment. The simulation results show that that the temperature and fuel utilization can operate within the safety range, and at the same time the hybrid system can effectively track the desired power output fast and accurately with regard to load disturbances.
