Abstract
► Titanium diboride (TiB2) has unique properties such as excellent thermal and electrochemical stability, and good electrical conductivity, perfectly for the catalyst support of polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells. ► Perfluorosulfonic acid polymer stabilized TiB2 particles are available to enhance the interactions between Pt particles and TiB2 support as well as significantly improve the dispersion of Pt nanoparticles on such inert ceramic supports. ► Especially, our own Pt/TiB2 catalysts also show a comparable oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) activity to commercial Pt/C catalysts.
