Abstract
⺠A multi-physics model is built to reveal the stresses in the separator of a pouch Li-ion cell. ⺠The maximum stress in the separator is found around its inner corner. ⺠The temperature variation is found to have a significant effect on stresses in the separator. ⺠Increase the separator thickness and effective frictions will increase the stress. ⺠The size of the active particles does not affect the stresses in the separator.
