Abstract
Ferrocene has been directly linked to tetracyanoanthraquinodimethane in both the 1 (1) and 2 (2) position. Electrochemical and spectroscopic properties indicate significant differences between 1 and 2, revealing the importance of the position of attachment onto the TCNAQ aromatic system. The X-ray structure of 1 is reported.
