Abstract
A new type of supramolecular compound [Cu(salen)]4 · Na2[Cu(mnt)2] has been synthesized and characterized. The neutral [Cu(salen)] complexes assemble among themselves through Ï-Ï interactions that form an framework type arrangement having well-defined channels. The ionic inorganic complex Na2[Cu(mnt)2], that acts as a template in this salen based-assembly, is accommodated in the channel as a guest.
