Abstract
Gold nano-particles are modified directly by tetrathiafulvalene moieties via sulfur-bridge, and the new redox active colloid shows two pairs of redox peaks in CH2Cl2. The second redox wave changes obviously when small molecule 4-hydroxy-2-mercaptopyrimidine is added to this system, which suggests that a catalytic reaction occurs at the gold particle surface.
