Abstract
A novel 1D coordination polymer, [Cu3(imH)8(im)2(ClO4)4]n (1) (imH = imidazole), has been synthesized and X-ray crystallographically characterized. The interesting feature is the presence of imidazolate bridged trinuclear unit and perchlorate binding to each metal centre via one of the O atoms of ClO4- ion that ensures a one-dimensional (1D) polymeric coordination chain which is further engaged in N-Hâ¯O hydrogen bonding to result a three-dimensional (3D) supramolecular continuum.
