Abstract
A new ligand 4â²-phenyl-4,2â²:6â²,4â³-terpyridine and its zinc complex have been prepared and structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The complex is a 1D helical polymer. Both ligand and complex display strong photoluminescence in the solid state at room temperature.
