Abstract
Three isomorphous cadmium coordination polymers, namely 24[Cd(pyim)2X2]n (XCl, 1; Br, 2; I, 3), have been synthesized from a hybrid ligand N-(4-pyridylmethyl)imidazole by slow diffusion methods. The X-ray analysis showed that the highly distorted basic grid is hourglass-shaped. In addition, the crystal packing of the complex molecules is influenced by the presence of the face to face Ï-Ï interactions.
