Abstract
The reaction of Mn(CH3COO)2 · 4H2O with 4-phenyl-2-acetylpyridine thiosemicarbazone, HAc4Ph, yielded the novel six-coordinate complex [Mn(Ac4Ph)2]. The complex has been characterized by spectral (IR and EPR) and X-ray diffraction methods. Intermolecular hydrogen bonds of the DAAD type and Ï-Ï interactions stabilize the structure and result in the formation of infinite layers.
