Abstract
Reaction of Re(CO)5Cl with 8-thiohydroxyquinoline hydrochloride affords dimeric Re2(CO)6(SX)2, which undergoes farther reaction with strong donor pyridine giving monomeric Re(CO)3(SX)(pyr). Chemical and spectral properties of the Nâ©Sâ complexes generally resemble those reported for analogical Nâ©Oâ complexes. The dimeric Nâ©Sâ Re2(CO)6(SX)2 shows profoundly higher stability towards dissociation then its Nâ©Oâ counterpart.
