Abstract
The prerequisite for the development of both inhibitors and substrate-based imaging agents for TGase 2 is the establishment of reliable assay methods to measure the enzymatic activity. Herein, we summarize the assays for this enzyme described so far accompanied by a brief overview of its roles in physiological and pathophysiological processes and a discussion of recent progress in the design of inhibitors and imaging probes.
