Abstract
⺠Different trimeric light harvesting complexes exist in pennate diatoms. ⺠The trimers have different polypeptides and trimers of Lhcf5 are most abundant. ⺠The trimers differ in pigments: Lhcf5 binds less, Lhcf2/10 more fucoxanthin. ⺠Binding of fucoxanthin to Lhcf5 induces the most extreme bathochromic shift. ⺠The ratio between trimers differs in high light as compared to low light conditions.
