Abstract
⺠Previous studies demonstrated that starvation inhibits juvenile hormone biosynthesis and vitellogenin production. ⺠Expression pattern indicates that Blattella germanica FoxO is not transcriptionally regulated during starvation. ⺠BgFoxO RNAi treatment in starved females increases juvenile hormone biosynthesis and vitellogenin production. ⺠Results suggest that BgFoxO inhibits juvenile hormone biosynthesis and vitellogenin production during nutrient shortage.
