Abstract
► Previous studies demonstrated that starvation inhibits juvenile hormone biosynthesis and vitellogenin production. ► Expression pattern indicates that Blattella germanica FoxO is not transcriptionally regulated during starvation. ► BgFoxO RNAi treatment in starved females increases juvenile hormone biosynthesis and vitellogenin production. ► Results suggest that BgFoxO inhibits juvenile hormone biosynthesis and vitellogenin production during nutrient shortage.
