Abstract

âº Isolation of the psoralen bioactive anticancerous compound from callus cultures of Psoralea corylifolia has been reported for the first time. âº Augmentation of callus with elicitors such as yeast extract, cinnamic acid and sucrose significantly enhanced the synthesis of psoralen. âº Putative psoralen synthase gene from P. corylifolia has been isolated and cloned which show significant homology with psoralen synthase of Ammi majus.
