Abstract
⺠No differences in curcin concentration on toxic and edible seeds. ⺠Curcin located mainly within the endosperm. ⺠Phorbol-esters absent in edible seeds. ⺠Phorbol-esters present at highest concentration in tegmen of toxic seeds. ⺠Higher genetic diversity found in Mexico-edible seeds form a single cluster.
