Abstract
⺠Larger fauna enhanced the control over soil N dynamics by litter chemical composition. ⺠Mediation by fauna on litter composition effects on N dynamics is time dependent. ⺠Findings support that soil fauna can determine litter effects on ecosystem function. ⺠First field study of interactive effects of soil community and litter quality on N dynamics in mineral soil.
