Abstract
⺠Influence of earthworms on soil carbon cycling is species-dependent. ⺠Epigeic earthworms stimulate soil respiration more than endogeic earthworms. ⺠Intraspecific competition is more intense than interspecific competition. ⺠Earthworm effects on litter consumption are non-additive (synergistic).
