Abstract
⺠Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) is an important component of transcriptional gene silencing pathways. ⺠In plants at least some lncRNAs are produced by two plant-specific specialized RNA polymerases IV and V. ⺠Non-coding transcription may regulate genome activity by controlling repressive chromatin modifications.
