Abstract
► Rice qualitative resistance to Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae is distinctive. ► This interaction appears to be mediated largely by uncommon major resistance genes. ► Mutation of susceptibility genes is an important aspect of this type of resistance. ► One or more of the PRR-type genes are also involved in the qualitative resistance. ► Transcriptional activating/suppressing MR genes is used in resistance regulation.
