Abstract
⺠N-Glycan from fission yeast contains pyruvic acid 4,6-ketal-linked galactose. ⺠Putative Schizosaccharomyces pombe pyruvyltransferase Pvg1p produced in Escherichia coli is characterized. ⺠Pvg1p transfers pyruvyl residues specifically to β-linked galactose.
