Abstract
⺠CDPKs are classified as Ser/Thr protein kinases. ⺠Several CDPKs are shown to autophosphorylate on Ser, Thr and Tyr residues. ⺠Tyr-24 of soybean CDPKβ was identified as an autophosphorylation site. ⺠Autophosphorylation of Tyr-24 attenuates peptide kinase activity in vitro. ⺠Tyr phosphorylation may play a role in calcium/CDPK-mediated processes.
