Abstract
⺠The abp gene from G. stearothermophilus encodes for a family 27 arabinopyranosidase. ⺠By using 13C NMR the removal of arabinopyranoside from galactan was demonstrated. ⺠A single residue, Ile 67 in Abp, appears to control substrate specificity.
