Abstract
⺠We have identified a transcriptional repressor of HIV-1 replication. ⺠Overexpression of ZBRK1 represses transcriptional activity of the HIV-1 LTR. ⺠The depletion of ZBRK1 leads to activation of the HIV-1 LTR. ⺠TRIM28 binding is required for ZBRK1 repressor activity. ⺠These results indicate that ZBRK1 could be involved in antiretroviral defense.
