Abstract
⺠The expression of Gpr116 is strongly induced during 3T3 preadipocyte differentiation. ⺠Knockdown of Gpr116 leads to an impaired adipogenesis in 3T3-L1 preadipocytes in vitro. ⺠Knockout of Gpr116 in adipose tissues exacerbates glucose intolerance and insulin resistance in mice on high fat diets. ⺠GPR116 deficient mice exhibit severe lipid accumulation in liver and muscle. ⺠Deletion of Gpr116 leads to a smaller adipocytes size and dysregulation of adiponectin and resistin's expression.
