Abstract
												⺠A distant regulatory element is located 120 kb downstream of the gls promoter. ⺠The element enhances the transcriptional activities of promoters. ⺠The element physically interacts with the gls promoter. ⺠The element differentially regulates gls gene transcription during myogenesis. ⺠The element modulates gene expression through spatial organization of chromatin.
