Abstract
⺠Regucalin (RGN) or senescence marker protein 30 is involved in Ca2+ homeostasis. ⺠RGN expression alters agonist and thapsigargin induced Ca2+ mobilization in cells. ⺠RGN also increases the expression of SERCA Ca2+ pumps by increasing transcription. ⺠Decrease in RGN may contribute to age-dependent dys-regulation of Ca2+ homeostasis.
